On January 18, 1903, a temporary iron church was inaugurated in St George's Terrace, which served as the main chapel for almost 27 years.〔http://jesmondholyname.co.uk/about-2/history/〕 A parish hall called "Osborne Hall" was built in 1922; that building is now part of the Jesmond swimming baths.
